1 - Take 2 slices of bread, and butter one side of each.
2 - Put a pan on the stove, set to medium temperature, that will fit your bread. Be sure you have adult supervision if you are too young to use the stove.
3 - Place 1 slice of bread, butter down, into the pan, and then place 1 or 2 slices of cheese. American is the preferred, but use any cheese you like. Then place the 2nd slice of bread on top of the cheese, butter side up.
3 1/2 - At this point it was suggested to sprinkle garlic powder lightly
4 - let one side get "toasted" brown and then flip with a spatula ( or any utensil that will flip your sandwhich easily. *** warning *** never ever get distracted and step away from the stove for even a second. Grilled Cheeses burn very fast and easy if not watched.
5 - ENJOY! Be careful not to burn your fingers on dripping cheese!

Burn easily? Yo bet they do! Garlic sounds like a nice touch, tho'.
