relaxing in the pool ..

Well ok, Im not REALLY relaxing in a pool ... its the candy dish on the table!

There is a rain stick laying next to the candy dish, and my peoples were playing with it.

Now I am waiting for the rain to come so I can relax in the rain water that fills the candy dish! I've heard the rain is wonderful fun to play in! I am going to sing "Singin' in the Rain" too!

(yes yes my peoples told me it only rains outside, but who knows when one is playing with a rain stick, right?!)

Cleaning Day ...

today was a busy day ... house cleaning! We got the laundry going pretty early! My peoples said she doesn't mind doing the laundry, she hates the folding and having to put away.

we did the floors last ... the hardwood floors here are just beautiful
but they pick up the dust pretty easily, so we dust them frequently!

That's my peoples massage table I am standing on, they have massages almost every week!
My peoples got me the Pledge so I could dust the tables and wood, since of course they get real dusty too .. we do live in the desert after all. It made the room smell all lemony good too!

mmm STEAK!

We went to a real yummy place called Black Angus Steak House!

My peoples got this steak quesadillas with a special request of no tomatoes or sauce type stuff that they usually put on - though it was also pointed out the extra stuff is not advertised on the menu - my peoples sent it back one time when it came out covered in tomatoes! They then told me I need to watch a documentary called "Attacked of the Killer Tomatoes

They did have some yummy drink called a Strawberry-Lemonade

(as I was bending over to smell I almost tipped over, thank goodness one of the peoples saved me!)

I was a little disappointed at one thing. Everytime tea is ordered, there is no spoon to stir the sugar! It's not just here, but everywhere!  What's up with that?

Overall I really enjoyed this establishment though!!

We headed out to AJ's Fine Foods to help a friend find "Grade C Maple Syrup"  Outside the store they have a beautiful fountain!

I wanted to play in it but my peoples said nope!  *sad face*  I guess water isnt good for wood .. one of my peoples said they MELT! when gotten wet!

I don't want to melt!!

As we entered the store, there was a beautiful floral shop!

These hydrangeas smelled SO good!!

I met some lovely frogs doing Yoga!

They let me try it with them, I really wasn't all that good,  I don't think my legs will move up to my head!

we weren't able to find the "Grade C" syrup, but I did have lots of fun at the market!

Dry Ice ...

There was a ring of the doorbell yesterday and a nice surprise was delivered,

I've been hearing about how wonderful their food is, and was excited for its arrival, however my peoples seemed even more excited about the cooler that the food gets delivered in, than the food itself!

To keep the food cold in the delivery trucks, they pack the cooler with something called "Dry Ice" - This stuff is pretty cool (haha pun intended)! My peoples put it in the sink and added a little water and this amazing cool mist was created.

I was told its too dangerous to touch the dry ice itself, but the mist was ok, so I stuck my toe in, it felt pretty neat!

First Fridays Art Walk ...

I had a wonderful adventure this past weekend as we visited something called "First Fridays". Its an Art Walk through part of Phoenix Arizona, held of course, on the 1st Friday of the month, and is the longest running Art Walk in the USA. There were LOTS of people, and some amazing arts and crafts. My peoples bought a few things and fell in love with others lol

This was the first thing I seen as I was taken out of my peoples car.

It's a mural representing different fairy tales and stories

I then got to meet some very pretty girls ....
I think I am in love!

There was some dancing ...

we even rode in something called "Ollie the Trolley" It was a lot of fun!

There was a beautiful singer there supporting a group called "Tumbleweed.org" , it's a youth development center.

One of the members made these really cool pieces of art...

There are more photos of my adventure to First Fridays Art Walk on my FaceBook!

My Garden

This is one of the lovely gardens I get to hang out in.

This is a most beautiful Orchid flower. It has white leaves and is speckled with purple dots. My peoples said it was a Mothers Day gift from friends.

and this is another beautiful Orchid flower.
It has the prettiest pink leaves!

I went with my peoples to get "nails done" .. this was quite a fun and interesting adventure!

We went to a place called "Amazing Nails and Spa", my peoples said they really like this place. A nice atmosphere, rarely has had more than a 3-5 minute wait for service, and always has had great nails and pedicures done!

The people there were really nice.

They let me check out some of their tools, which were pretty neat!

There was a nice lady peoples who said she just loved playing with me, and my peoples nail tech just had to touch and play with me too, I would suggest this place to all peoples!

I had to sit and wait a long time though, almost a whole 30 minutes ..

The have this really cool (haha pun intended) fan that the peoples can dry their nails with ..

My peoples said it would be funny to imitate Marilyn Monroe, I liked how it felt blowing in my face!

"Karate Kid"

I was so amazed with the star gazing and seeing the falling star that I was anxious to get back out and hope to see some more! My peoples were talking about a beautiful sunset the other night, and so I had to try and get a closer look ...

1st I had to find a high spot to get a good view. I decided to climb up my peoples cabana post. Once I got up the there the view was beautiful! I was told it took me so long though, that I missed the prettiest parts, but that some of the most beautiful sunsets happen here in Arizona, and so I was sure to see plenty more in my lifetime!

While sitting up staring at the beautiful sky,
I started feeling very "zen"

My peoples said I looked like "The Karate Kid" ... Which I have heard is an excellent movie!

I was just having a good time!

I didnt see any more shooting stars, but I will keep looking!

Breakfast! The most important meal of the day ...

This morning I was introduced to a toaster. This isn't just your average toaster either, I've been told, as it makes something called Egg McMuffins (A breakfast sandwich that McDonalds made famous!) all from just the one machine.

We are only making toast however this morning, toast with butter and honey
.... it sounded delicious!

and it WAS!!

I was told Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Our bodies, or, at least my peoples bodies, need energy, just like a car needs fuel. When the body sleeps, its uses all the energy, or fuel, that it got from the day and is on empty in the morning. We can't drive our cars without fuel, and the body can not run without energy.

Anything is good really, but preferably low sugar and protein is the preferred fuel - High Octane! The body will burn 35% more calories naturally in a day by eating protein for breakfast!! To keep metabolism and energy up, a people should eat, even a handful of a snack of something, every 2 hours, with a healthy lunch and a light dinner.

Todays Adventure - WALMART!

Today I went on my 1st adventure to Walmart.

<~~ This was me getting out of the car! I crawled out on my peoples side since its a pretty long jump down to the ground for me.

This WalMart is a HUGE place for shopping at discounted prices.

Unfortunately the camera was died right after this shot, so I didnt get any pics inside, but Ive been told this will be a frequent place we visit, so next time I will be more prepared!

Before the Wal-Mart trip we stopped at the U Store It storage unit of my peoples. I was left in the car because of safety (I was told a phone was left on the hood of the car as my people drove away, where it smashed into pieces on the ground EEPS!)

They did however see my curiosity and took me out ...

It was a little scary thinking I could get left behind, but it all turned out OK! BOY was it HOT on top of roof!!!

DUMP CAKE!

My peoples went to a BBQ/Pool Party at the neighbors yesterday. I was forgotten at home *sniff sniff* .. no ok not really, haha! There were lots of people, fire, deep waters and it just wasnt considered a safe adventure for a wooden man.

I did however get to participate in the making of DumpCake, which was dessert for the party. This has to be one of the most delicious treats ever and I was amazed at how easy it is - even easier than the grilled cheese!

We simply sprayed a glass pan with PAM - then poured in crushed pineapple, a can of cherry pie filling and then sprinkled a yellow cake mix powder over that ( YES! no mixing of the cake batter at all! just open the bag and sprinkle it over the yummy fruit!!) - Then they melted a few tablespoons of butter in the microwave and poured it over the cake stuff; baked in the oven for about 45 minutes to an hour on 350 and we had cake!!

Unfortunately the left overs (what little there was I heard!) were kept so they neighbors could enjoy .. So I didnt get to taste any but hey .. It's all good, I am sure there will be more!
